PD3 Writing: How to Score Well on Opgave B (Sundhedstilbud)

The task

Mange arbejdspladser i Danmark tilbyder aktiviteter, der skal få deres ansatte til at leve sundere. Nogle tilbud indgår i arbejdstiden, og andre foregår i fritiden.

1. Match the three task bullets — that is your structure

Censors expect indledning + tre begrundede punkter + konklusion. In this type of task, the three bullets are your three points:

1. Punkt 1 — a short, concrete example from a workplace you know.
2. Punkt 2 — comment on one or two items from the list (e.g. sundhedstjek i arbejdstiden, løbeklub efter arbejdstid).
3. Punkt 3 — evaluate advantages and disadvantages, with reasons. Spend roughly half your text here — the task says so explicitly, and it's where the censor tests your B2 level most directly.

Give each point its own paragraph. One block of text without breaks is hard to read and costs marks.

2. What actually moves the grade

PD3 writing is marked on three axes:

• Content & task completion — did you answer all three bullets? Is point 3 well developed?
• Structure & cohesion — clear paragraphs, logical flow, connectors.
• Language (B2) — varied sentence patterns, precise vocabulary, correct grammar (including V2 word order).

The official grade restrictions are about which delprøve you complete, not phrasing choices inside Delprøve 2:

• Answer neither delprøve → -3.
• Answer only Delprøve 1 → capped at 00 or -3.
• Answer only Delprøve 2 → docked one full grade before anything else is assessed.

Within Delprøve 2 there is no fixed "weak point 3 = grade 4" rule — but since punkt 3 is worth roughly half your answer, a thin or undeveloped one is exactly what separates the low bands from the middle and top. The lowest band (02) is described as failing to take a clear position and repeating material from earlier points; the top band (12) is described as reasoning, arguing and nuancering — conceding a counterpoint, not just stating one side.

A word about the 200 words. It is a minimum you should meet, but it is not a cliff edge: the official assessment guidance calls it guidance for you, tells examiners not to count words, and says only a serious deviation counts against you. So do not pad to hit a number, and do not panic if you land at 190. Develop all three bullets properly — point 3 especially — and the length takes care of itself. The same principle runs through the personal e-mail in Delprøve 1, which has no minimum at all.

3. Connectors that strengthen your text

• "For det første… for det andet… endelig…"
• "På den ene side… på den anden side…"
• "En fordel ved det er, at…"
• "En ulempe kunne være, at…"
• "Af den grund mener jeg, at…"

5. Example opening (punkt 1)

"På mit tidligere arbejde tilbød virksomheden både korte motionspauser i arbejdstiden og et tilskud til fitness. Det var frivilligt, men mange kolleger deltog regelmæssigt."

Then develop punkt 2 and punkt 3 in separate paragraphs — do not compress everything into the introduction.
